Manual Candle Making machines are especially suitable for the beginners. For candle makers who want to make many kinds of candles, manual candle machines are the first choice too.
I. Characteristics and Advantage
Manual Candle Machines are the most common machines now used in candle making industry. Although they are called manual machines, they can provide big output capacities as well. With an investment of less than USD10,000, a small-scale candle plant can have 3-8 machines which can make 8,000-30,000 candles per Day (8 working hours). These candles can be in different kinds and styles. Just 2 or 3 persons can easily handle these machines.
Another advantage of the manual candle machines is, they do not need any electricity. Some automated candle machines are alleged to have big output capacity. But meantime they are all big power consumers - 20KW or 40KW per hour. The money paid for the electricity is even higher than the profit that can be earned from the candles.
Handling a manual candle machine doesn't need special skills or special training. Any adult, man or woman, can learn how to use it in short time. The maintenance is simple and easy too. You don't have to have a technician to take care of it. It can work all the days - no need of periodical downtime for maitenance.
Manual machines are durable too. A good machine can work for 20 or 30 years. Of course, it should be handled correctly. Just carefully read the User Manual and watch the demo video we give you, you will know within 2 hours how to handle them correctly.
Because of these advantages, manual candle machines are widely used for making various kinds of candles. Almost all household candles are made with manual machines. Besides, over 70% of other candles like pillar candle, tea-light candles and taper candles are made with manual machines too. Meantime, some candles can be made only with the manual machine, like the spiral candles and votive candles.
II. Machine Structure
A manual candle machine consists of 4 main parts: Candle Moulds, Water Tank, Candle Releasing and Lifting Mechanism and Machine Frame (Picture 1).

A. Candle Moulds
1. The Candle Moulds are welded on the table of the machine (Picture 2 and 3). They are fixed – can not be changed. So the shape (design) of the candles that can be made with a manual machine can not be changed. But the height of some candles, for example the tea-light candle, can be adjusted on the machine.
We use different materials to make the candle molds, like stainless steel tubes, seamless copper tubes, and Nickel-plated tubes. They are suitable for producing candles from different materials.
2. The dimensions of our regular candle machines are fixed usually. For machine Type A, it is 140cm (length) X 50cm (width). For Type B and C, it is 140cm (length) X 65cm (width) (Picture 4). Regular machines with such dimensions have been proved to be the most convenient for using. Of course, if a client has his special request on the machine dimension, we can customize it too. But we don’t suggest the machine to be very big.

3. The smaller the candle diameter is, the more the candle moulds can be fixed in one machine and the more candles a machine can produce in one time. For example, a Type A machine can produce 20 pillar candles of Ø76mm in one time, but if it is a household candle of Ø15mm, it can produce 80 candles in one time.
B. Water Tank
The Water Tank of a machine is connected with pipes to a Cooling Water Circulating System. When a machine is in working, the water must be circulating so that to make the hot wax cools down in a proper time.
C. Candle Releasing and Lifting Mechanism
After the wax is fully solidified, the candles can be released and lifted from the moulds by the mechanism (Picture 5).
Picture 5 (candles being released and lifted out of the moulds)
D. Machine Frame
The frame of our manual candle machine is made of strong steel plate, so that to be strong and durable. We don't use cheap materials or wood plate. That can reduce the cost, but reduce the quality too.
III. Candles that can be made with the Manual Candle Making Machine
Almost all types of candles can be made with the Manual Candle Machines, including the normal Lighting Candle, Pillar candle (Church Candle), Spiral Candle, Taper Candle, Votive Candle, Tea-light Canlde, and some Floating Candle etc.
Because the candle molds are already built-in on the machine, each manual machine can only make one candle type. The candle length (height) can be adjusted a little, but the candle diameter is un-adjustable.
Some non-regular-shape candles can not be made by the manual machine. If you want to make these candles, you will need individual candle moulds instead of machines.
IV. Special Skill or Training for Using the Manual Candle Machines
No need.
You don’t have to have special skill or training. You neither have to come here to learn how to use the machine. Our machines are designed to be very easy for handle. Meantime, we will give you User Manual and demonstration CD in English. You can learn without any barrier how to make good candles with the manual candle machines.
V. About Power Supply
The manual candle machine does NOT need any electricity.
VI. Types of Manual Candle Making Machines
Now we have three types of machines as follows.
Type A, with candle moulds in 2 rows,
Type B, with candle moulds in 4-8 rows.
Type C, with candle moulds in 4-8 rows, and an aluminium clamp for collecting the finished candles.
VII. Working Area and Labor Cost
One Manual Candle Making Machine takes about 2*2 M2 of working area. Of course, you will need some more room for other facilities, like a wax melter, a water tank or a water pool.
One person can handle 5-6 Type A machines, or 3-4 Type B machines, or 4-5 Type C machines at the same time.
VIII. Production Capacity - How Many candles can be produced with a Manual Candle Making Machine?
It is a frequently asked question. This depends on the candle size. Generally speaking, the bigger the candle is, the lower the production speed is.
Meantime the production capacity depends on the temperature of the circulating water too. The best temperature is around 20℃.
IX. How to Choose a Suitable candle machine
Please just let us know the type and size of the candles you want to produce, and how many candles you want to produce in a day. Then we can recommend the most suitable machines to you.
Download a form from here, fill it and send it back to us. Then we will recommend the most suitable machine to you.
X. Customization
We can customize a machine according to the user's specific requirement too.
A. It must have very good candle moulds which can be suitable for making candles from different materials including paraffin wax, palm wax or stearic acid. The moulds must be well welded on the machines too so that not be be broken in using. They must be fine polished so that the candle surface can be very smooth. The shape of the moulds must be well designed so that the candles are easy to be released from the moulds.
B. It must be user friendly – easy for handle and maintanance, no need of special training.
C. It must be strong enough to withstand a long-distance transportation.
D. It must be very durable, can work for 15-20 years or more.
